UNIDO, the United Nations Industrial Development Organisation is set up to promote and assist industrial development through innovation and technical solutions. The Solapac renewable energy containerized power plant developed in the United Kingdom provides just such a solution for villages, remote clinics, off-grid farms and small to medium scale industrial processing for rural communities.

With an additional capability of supplying purified drinking water where needed or to drive industrial machinery, the Solapac now features on the UNIDO website recognizing that it helps to achieve UNIDO’s goals to build resilient infrastructure, provide clean energy and offer enormous potential to promote agri-businesses and food security with wide applications in

developing regions of the world.

Solapac is an accredited technology of UNIDO’s Global Cleantech Innovation Program – UNIDO GCIP. Administered in South Africa by the Department of Science, Technology Innovation Agency (TIA)
